I have a new wifi and wanted to connect my laserjet m110w to the new network.
I have tried to reconnect, then delete the printer to reinstall but when I get to the point where I should select the HP printer from the wifi settings it asks me for a password. I never gave a password nor can i find it anywhere. One of the questions on this forum was asking the same and I also tried the admin pw on the inside of the printer. Still the system tells me the password is wrong. I don't know anymore what to do. The printer had no issues when I first had it set up and now it's behaving like many people say. Impossible to install. Please help

Hi @mine32,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue you're experiencing is common when reconnecting an HP printer like the LaserJet M110w to a new WiFi network. The printer requests a password because it's in WiFi Direct or Auto Wireless Connect mode. Here's how to resolve it:
Steps to Connect Your Printer to the New WiFi Network:
Reset Network Settings on the Printer:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for about 5 seconds or until the wireless light starts blinking. This resets the network settings, allowing you to start fresh.
Reconnect the Printer to WiFi:
- Option 1: Using the HP Smart App:
- Install the HP Smart app on your iOS device if you haven't already.
- Open the app and tap Add Printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer on your new network.
- During this process, the app will guide you to temporarily connect to the printer’s WiFi (e.g., HP-Setup-LaserJet-M110w).
- If prompted for a password, use the default "12345678".
- After connecting, the app will transfer your new WiFi network credentials to the printer.
- Option 2: WPS Push Button Method:
- Ensure your router has a WPS button.
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
- Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
- The printer will connect to the WiFi automatically.
Re-add the Printer on Your Device:
- After the printer is connected to the WiFi, go to your iOS device's Settings > Printers & Scanners and add the printer again.
If the Password Issue Persists:
- Confirm you’re entering the WiFi Direct default password (usually "12345678").
- Check the printer label or user manual for the default WiFi Direct password, if different.
- Reset the printer to factory settings:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold both the Wireless button and Cancel button together.
- Turn the printer back on while holding these buttons until all lights blink.
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Ensure the printer and your iOS device are on the same network.
- Avoid 5 GHz networks; the LaserJet M110w supports only 2.4 GHz WiFi.
