Common problems for Connectivity Issues

Example: Pavilion 6530HP ENVY 7800
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As a last resort, I'll try the forum to see if I can get this problem fixed and stay fixed. When I need to print or scan, I go through the usual steps but get an error that the computer cannot connect to the printer. OK. I have the most current software and drivers for both the computer and the printer. I have switched off and then restarted the WiFi router, computer, and printer in every combination. No change. I see the printer IS connected to the WiFi network, and so is the laptop. So, both are connected TO the router, but will not connect to each other. Previously this was solved by various restarts and so on. Today, none of that works.

In fact, why is it that EVERY TIME I want to print or scan, I have to go through this BS? It printed fine two days ago. Today NO. It scanned fine this past Saturday after the usual multiple turning off and on multiple time, but not now. If there is a gap of a couple hours is seems, i need to go through all this crap storm.

Can anyone give me permanent solution, or is this how everyone else has to live?

@Clothos3, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print and scan wirelessly from the computer.

To assist you better, are you using the HP Smart app to print and scan?

Have you tried reinstalling this app from the Microsoft Store?

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

Also, check for any pending Windows Updates.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
