I am unable to connect my HP Laserjet m140w printer to my wifi. It is a new printer. The wifi (blue light) is flashing, but my printer is not detected.

@Jynlerry, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your new HP LaserJet MFP M140w printer to Wi-Fi. Since the blue wireless light is blinking, the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode, but your device isn't detecting it. Let's walk through the steps to get you connected:

Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or PC:

Open HP Smart and click “Set up a new printer.”

The app should detect your printer (since the blue light is blinking).

Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

If the printer is not detected, try moving it closer to your Wi-Fi router and restart both the printer and your phone/PC.

Option 2: Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode (if needed)

If the blue light is not blinking, you can reset Wi-Fi setup mode:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button and Cancel button on the printer for 5 seconds until the light starts blinking again.
  2. Now retry the setup using the HP Smart app.

Option 3: Manual Wireless Setup (Advanced)

If HP Smart still doesn’t detect the printer:

  1. Connect your PC or phone to the printer’s temporary Wi-Fi network (e.g., HP-Setup-xx-M140).
  2. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.223.1
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your home Wi-Fi.
