Hi @gschlett,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet M234sdw is having trouble connecting to a Wi-Fi network, here are some steps you can follow to help resolve the issue:
Step 1: Reset Wireless Settings on the Printer
- Turn the printer on.
- Press and hold the Wireless button until the LED starts blinking, then press and hold the Cancel (✖) button for about 5 seconds to reset the network settings.
Step 2: Use the HP Smart App to Reconnect
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
- Open the app, select Add Printer, then follow the on-screen instructions to enter your Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- When prompted, press the flashing Wireless/Information button on the printer to begin the setup.
Step 3: Confirm Connection
- Once connected, the printer’s Wi‑Fi light should glow solid blue.
- You’ll then be able to print wirelessly from devices on the same network.
Tips if the Printer Still Won’t Connect
- Restart both your printer and your router and try again.
- Make sure your devices are all on the same Wi‑Fi network (not separate guest or 5 GHz bands).
- Disable VPNs on your setup device temporarily during the connection process.
- Update your printer’s firmware and drivers via HP’s support site.
