Hi @gschlett,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet M234sdw is having trouble connecting to a Wi-Fi network, here are some steps you can follow to help resolve the issue:

Step 1: Reset Wireless Settings on the Printer

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button until the LED starts blinking, then press and hold the Cancel (✖) button for about 5 seconds to reset the network settings.

Step 2: Use the HP Smart App to Reconnect

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  2. Open the app, select Add Printer, then follow the on-screen instructions to enter your Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  3. When prompted, press the flashing Wireless/Information button on the printer to begin the setup.

Step 3: Confirm Connection

  • Once connected, the printer’s Wi‑Fi light should glow solid blue.
  • You’ll then be able to print wirelessly from devices on the same network.

Tips if the Printer Still Won’t Connect

  • Restart both your printer and your router and try again.
  • Make sure your devices are all on the same Wi‑Fi network (not separate guest or 5 GHz bands).
  • Disable VPNs on your setup device temporarily during the connection process.
  • Update your printer’s firmware and drivers via HP’s support site.
