I do not see where you mentioned your printer model or operating system/version.

If you did, I may have missed it, or your post failed to include that information.

Sure - possible.

Not every printer supports Wireless.

Of those printers that support Wireless, not every printer supports 5Ghz.

That means you must connect the printer to your router's 2.4GHz frequency.

Wireless connections typically depend on your local network configuration and whether you have the information necessary to connect to that network.  For example, should you live in a dorm room, apartment, or other similar facility -- or you are trying to connect to a network that you do not control for other reasons, then it is entirely possible you cannot connect the printer to that network.

Should standard wireless options not be available for any reason, check whether you can use Wi-Fi Direct.

Your first line of defense -- the basic "how to" instructions to connect your printer to your wireless network or to connect your printer to Wi-Fi Direct - are included in your printer's user guide.

HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

Wi-Fi Direct is a limited type of wireless connection that connects your wireless capable printer directly to your wireless capable computer.  No Internet, no router.  Because of these limitations, Wi-Fi Direct is not suitable for any printer that requires connection to HP Services, including HP+, Instant Ink, and most of the connections and features available in HP Smart (Windows).
