Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I just came off of the ink program , I purchased a new HP InkCartridge and I cannot get the printer to hook up with my computer.  Not sure why this ishappening to me. I have bought their computer and now it does not want to hook up. IT just states it is Validating and just sits there.

The printer will not go online for the computer, it will say it is but when I try a test page it states it is not hooked up. Something is kicking it out of the network. I had no issues when I was paying their ink plan. This has come on since I quit that and I am trying to use a regular cartridge.

I do not have an instant ink printer. My understanding is that if you run out of ink, or you cancel your subscription, you can use genuine Hewlett Packard cartridges either original or refilled. They must have an HP chip in the cartridge.

Note that this is a peer to peer forum and I am just the messenger of this bad news: Instant ink cartridges can only be used when the ink subscription is active.   HP is not the only company that wants their own ink used. The last time I checked, Epson, Canon and Brother all do the same.

If you reset the printer then you need to re-reconnect it to the internet OR you can avoid connecting and just print directly to it using Wi-Fi direct.,
For general help for new router or printer please refer to this article in our printer database.

Please provide the exact model name of the printer for better assistance as I may be able to find videos to show how to connect or fix the problem. A printer can be a PRO or a PLUS or have the letter 'e' after the number and that can make a big difference. Some printers with the same number ID could be a LaserJet, Deskjet, or Officejet.
