HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer

Can't wifi print recently. Has worked fine for years and now printer won't print. it will scan fine, just no print. had been printing to HP Smart , and reinstalled the app, but laptop doesn't recognize HP Smart as a print option now. Have run all troubleshooters, and status indicators all show good. Any other ideas?

@Mach1Marky, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding WiFi Printing Issues with HP OfficeJet Pro 6968!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer was previously working fine over WiFi but now can't print, while scanning still works, here are a few steps and solutions that you can try:

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is still connected to the same WiFi network as your laptop.
  • Verify that the WiFi signal is strong and stable in the area where the printer is located.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer. Wait a few seconds, then turn them back on. Allow the devices to reconnect to the network.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Customer Support website and check if there are any updated drivers available for your printer model. Download and install them.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Since reinstalling HP Smart didn’t resolve the issue, make sure you uninstall the app completely, restart your computer, and then reinstall it again from the official source or app store.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer’s web interface via its IP address in a web browser to check connection settings. Ensure that network discovery is enabled.

Windows Default Printer Settings:

  • Open "Control Panel" on your laptop and navigate to "Devices and Printers". If needed, right-click your printer and select "Set as default printer".

Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus program to see if it's blocking the communication with your printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a free utility that can help diagnose and fix printing and scanning problems.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
