HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After resetting my wireless router after a power outage, I wasn't able to re-establish a Wi-Fi connection with my printer.  This has happened a few times in the past and I was always able to re-connect, but not this time.  Following the directions on the printer screen, I press the WPS button on the router, then press the OK button on the printer.  The printer screen shows a number of cycles then displays "connecting", followed by "connection established".  It then says to press the OK button again on the printer.  The screen says ready but the blue Wi-Fi  light remains on.   When I try to print I get a printer error message (nothing specific).

. . .  there's no error message number, just "Error printing on HP LaserJet Pro MFP M25-27 PCLmS"

Restore printer settings to factory defaults:-

1. On the printer control panel, open the Setup menu.

2. Open the Service menu.

3. Select Restore Defaults.

The printer automatically restarts.

Try to connect the printer to a wireless connection again.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

Here are the steps:- Click here

Followed all the steps  -  including updating the firmware  from the printer menu (keyed the address on a web browse and got to the HP page for my printer and selected the HP Web Services tab but it's been spinning (connecting) for over an hour.  What I don't understand is that the printer indicates that a connection is established but it still will not print.

Perform a factory reset on the printer and try to connect the printer to the WiFI again and check if that works.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.

I do appreciate your patience.  I followed the latest instructions, got the  ‘Permanent Storage Init.’ message (not sure what you meant by "quadrant" here), the printer indicated "ready". but I get the same error again, "Error printing on HP LaserJet Pro MFP M25-27 PCLmS".   I tried this procedure twice with the same result.
