I am using the wifi connection wizard and get failed to connect every time..
Worked with the previous Optus modem, have upgraded to the latest Optus modem, now we cant use the envy 4500 printer.
I have tried the advice on the other help topics: reset network, and run wizard but fails every time.
Have printed out the report, and get that `no filtering` FAIL but i am not using that.
My printer can be seen by the modem, but it just wont correct to the wifi.
The modem is dual band, but most 2.4 GHz devices can just connect to the correct band.
Any suggestions?

Hi @pinkfloydim,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're encountering issues connecting your HP Envy 4500 printer to your new Optus modem's Wi-Fi network. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check Wi-Fi Network Compatibility: Ensure that your HP Envy 4500 printer is compatible with the Wi-Fi network's frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) that your Optus modem is broadcasting. If your printer only supports 2.4 GHz and your modem is set to 5 GHz, you may need to adjust the modem settings to broadcast on the 2.4 GHz band.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of both the printer and the modem can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both devices, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
- Verify Network Settings: Double-check the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password entered into the printer's settings. Make sure they match the information for your Optus modem's Wi-Fi network.
- Move Closer to the Modem: Ensure that the printer is within range of the Wi-Fi signal emitted by your Optus modem. Being too far away from the modem can result in a weak or unstable connection.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Envy 4500 printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with newer Wi-Fi networks.
- Factory Reset the Printer: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your HP Envy 4500 printer to revert it to its default settings. Be aware that this will erase any custom settings and configurations, so make sure to note down any important information beforehand.
- Contact Optus Support: If you've tried the above steps and still can't connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network, it may be helpful to contact Optus customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide specific guidance or settings tailored to their modem's configuration.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the connectivity issues with your HP Envy 4500 printer and your new Optus modem's Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
