Hello, I am getting Cartridge or Account Issue with my HP Deskjet 2820e. I used to have Instant Ink subscription which was cancelled in 2025 and I have been using Original HP ink since then.

Few months ago, the printer stopped printing and it was showing E0 error with no ink levels and blinking error next to cartridges icon. I thought something went wrong with the cartridges even though black was recently replaced.

Today I replaced both cartridges with Original HP 305 and still getting this error.

I have tried all the steps using the help files and AI but error still remains.

I have checked my online account and it shows 'Not enrolled'.

- Power reset
- Multiple cartridges
- Removed and re added printer from the account and app
- Disconnected and re connected to Wifi.

Could someone please advise on how to fix this?

Hi @WildSpider18,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for sharing the details and the troubleshooting already completed.

As the Instant Ink subscription was previously cancelled and the printer now shows a Cartridge or Account Issue with an E0 error, please provide the following:

  • A clear picture of both currently installed HP 305 cartridges, showing the cartridge labels.
  • Confirmation of whether Web Services is currently enabled or disabled on the printer.
  • The printer serial number and the email address or Instant Ink account ID previously used for the subscription, sent through a private message.

Please do not share the serial number, email address, or Instant Ink account information publicly.

To access your private messages, simply click the private message icon in the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile and send a private message to me with the serial number, because we value your privacy.

Once we receive these details, we can check and help further.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
