Hi @Cleroy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To change the IP address on your HP printer, you generally need to access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) through a web browser. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you change the IP address:
Steps to Change IP Address on HP Printer
Find the Current IP Address
- Print a Network Configuration Page from your printer to find its current IP address. This page usually contains network information, including the current IP address.
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup or Network menu.
- Select Print Network Configuration, View Network Settings, or a similar option.
Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Open a web browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) on a computer connected to the same network as your printer.
- Enter the current IP address of your printer into the web browser's address bar and press Enter.
- The EWS page for your printer should load. If prompted, enter the administrator username and password. By default, the username is often "admin" and the password may be left blank or could be "admin" as well. If you have set a custom password, use that.
Change the IP Address
- Once logged into the EWS, navigate to the Network or Networking tab/menu.
- Look for an option like TCP/IP Settings, IP Address, or Network Address.
- Select Manual IP configuration (if not already selected) and enter the new IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway provided by your network administrator or router.
- Note: Ensure the new IP address is within the same subnet as your network to avoid connectivity issues.
Apply the Changes
- After entering the new IP address details, click Apply or Save to apply the changes.
- The printer may restart to apply the new settings. Allow it to do so.
Verify the New IP Address
- Print another Network Configuration Page from the printer to verify that the IP address has been successfully changed.
Update Printer Drivers (if necessary)
- If you've changed the IP address, you may need to update the printer driver settings on your computer to match the new IP address. This ensures proper communication between your computer and the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
