Hi @addisoneconman_,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Switching to Starlink can cause printer connection issues because Starlink uses a different router setup and often defaults to 5 GHz Wi-Fi, which some HP DeskJet models (like the 2624) do not support; they typically require 2.4 GHz.

Here’s how to fix it:

Steps to Connect HP DeskJet 2624 to Starlink Wi-Fi

  1. Check Wi-Fi Band
    • Log in to your Starlink router settings.
    • Ensure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled (Starlink often combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one SSID).
    • If combined, temporarily split the bands or create a separate 2.4 GHz SSID for the printer.

  2. Reset Printer Network Settings
    • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
    • This restores network defaults.

  3. Reconnect Using HP Smart
    • Download HP Smart on your phone or PC.
    • Open HP Smart → Add Printer → follow prompts.
    • Make sure your phone/PC is on the same 2.4 GHz network.

  4. Update Printer Firmware
  5. Optional: Use WPS
    • If your Starlink router supports WPS:
      • Press WPS on the router.
      • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the light blinks.
      • Wait for the connection.
