Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have a HP computer, monitor and HP Deskjet2755e printer. It was wireless but it would not stay connected to Wifi. I finally got a printer cable to be able to print. It prints a test page, but won't print anything from the computer that I need to print. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks, Bindismom

Hi @Bindismom,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2755e is printing a test page via USB but won’t print documents from your HP computer. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve this.

a. Check Printer Selection

When printing, make sure the DeskJet 2755e is selected as the default printer.

In Windows, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click Set as default.

b. Restart Printer & Computer

Turn off both the printer and computer.

Wait 1–2 minutes, then power them back on and try printing again.

c. Check USB Connection

Ensure the USB cable is firmly connected to both the printer and computer.

Try a different USB port on your computer to rule out a faulty port.

d. Clear Print Queue

Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and open the queue.

Cancel any pending print jobs and try printing a new document.

e. Update or Reinstall Drivers

Open Device Manager > Printers, right-click your DeskJet 2755e, and select Update driver > Search automatically.

Alternatively, download the latest drivers from HP’s official support site and reinstall.

f. Run Windows Printer Troubleshooter

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Printer > Run.

Follow the prompts to detect and fix communication issues.

g. Check Document & Application

Try printing from a different application (like Notepad or WordPad) to see if the issue is app-specific.

Ensure the document is not corrupted or too large for the printer buffer.

h. Test a Simple Print

Open Notepad, type a short sentence, and try printing.

If it prints, the connection is working, and the issue may be software-specific.

I hope this helps.
