I have a Deskjet 2755e which is proving to be an expensive nightmare.  Can't make it work.  Shows offline and I can't print anything.

Hi @CarolW4,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer printer showing offline, especially when you're trying to get work done. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to bring it back online:

1. Check Printer and Connection

  • Power Cycle: Turn off both your printer and computer. Wait for a minute, then turn both devices back on.
  • WiFi Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to the same WiFi network as your computer. Check your printer's display for any network connection status. If it's not connected, follow the setup process to connect it again.

2. Set Printer to Default

  • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
  • Go to Devices and Printers or Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the DeskJet 2755e printer and select Set as Default Printer.

3. Check for Printer in Windows Settings

  • Open Settings and go to Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Find your DeskJet 2755e printer in the list. If it shows as offline, click on it, and then click Open queue.
  • In the print queue, make sure there's no paused or stuck print job. If there is, right-click and select Cancel.

4. Run the Printer Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Run the Printer Troubleshooter to diagnose and fix any issues automatically.

5. Restart the Print Spooler

  • Press Windows + R and type services.msc, then press Enter.
  • Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
  • Right-click it and select Restart.

6. Check Printer’s Status in HP Smart

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Ensure the printer is listed and shows as Online.
  • If not, try removing the printer from the app and adding it back by clicking Add Printer.

Let me know if these steps help or if you need more assistance!
