We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Saw a post back in February 2022 with the same subject as above.  Followed the steps until I got to click "HTML Config”.   When I click, it goes back to printer utility.  I open and click again and same thing happens.  Same thing happens on my new Mac w/ Tahoe.  -  All this started when I changed my home network; printer stopped working.  Tried all the solutions on internet,   Was able to get it to work using printer cable but not wifi.  Am I really going to have to throw this one away and buy another?

Hi, it sounds like the "HTML Config" is failing because your Mac's security settings or browser are blocking the printer's older internal webpage (EWS) after your network change. Since you have a USB cable, we can bypass the browser entirely to push the new Wi-Fi settings to the printer.

  1. HP Smart App Setup: Connect the printer to your Mac via USB. Open the HP Smart App (download from the App Store if needed). It should see the printer over USB; click on the printer icon and look for Advanced Settings or Network Settings to reconfigure the Wi-Fi.
  2. Wireless Direct Method: If the app fails, unplug the USB. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for 10 seconds until the lights flash. On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon and look for a network named "HP-Print-xx-P1102w". Join it (the password is usually 12345678), then type 192.168.223.1 into Safari to access the setup page directly.
  3. WPS Push Button: If your new router has a WPS button, press it for 3 seconds, then immediately press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it flashes. Wait 2 minutes for the blue light to stay solid.

Actually,  I learned the reason the HTML Conn button wasn't working was because I needed to have the cable connected from my MAC to the printer.  Must have missed that step.  When I connected it, I was able to configure the printer with the new network and password through my MAC.  So I never went back to the HP app.  But thanks for the help.

Sorry.  Cannot say your instructions provided the solution.  By the time you answered, I had already solved the problem without using the HP app.  What you said looked helpful, but I did not pursue it.
