Hi @Ellicott67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When experiencing difficulties connecting your HP laptop to your HP Envy 5530 printer wirelessly, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Verify Network Connection

  • Ensure that both your laptop and printer are connected to the same wireless network. Check your Wi-Fi settings on both devices to confirm they are using the same SSID (network name).

2. Reboot Devices

  • Restart your laptop and printer to refresh their network settings.

3. Check Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer, go to the network settings menu and confirm that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can usually find network settings options in the printer's setup or settings menu.

4. Update Printer Drivers

  • Ensure that you have the latest driver software installed for your HP Envy 5530. Visit the HP Support website and download and install the latest drivers specific to your printer model.

5. Temporarily Disable Security Software

  • Sometimes, firewall or security software can interfere with the connection. Try temporarily disabling your security software on the laptop and check if the issue is resolved. Make sure to re-enable your security after the test.

6. Reconnect the Printer

  • Attempt to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network using its wireless setup wizard. This option is often accessible via the printer's control panel.

7. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Verify if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP Support website, as updates can resolve connectivity issues.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
