Hi @ecb2027,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 printer to a new Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:

Method 1: Using Printer's Control Panel (WPS Setup)

  1. Prepare Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on and in a ready state.
  2. Press WPS Button: Locate the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on your Wi-Fi router. Press and hold the WPS button on your router.
  3. Activate WPS Mode on Printer: On your printer's control panel, press and hold the Wireless button or the button with the Wi-Fi symbol until the wireless light starts flashing.
  4. Wait for Connection: The printer will attempt to connect to the Wi-Fi network using WPS. Once connected, the wireless light on the printer will become solid.

Method 2: Using HP Smart App (for Mobile Devices)

  1. Download HP Smart App: Install the HP Smart app on your mobile device from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS).
  2. Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
  3. Add Printer: Tap on the (+) icon to add your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer to the app.
  4. Connect to New Wi-Fi: During the setup process, you will be prompted to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network. Follow the instructions provided in the app to complete the setup.

Method 3: Using Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Find Printer IP Address: Print a network configuration page or a wireless test report from your printer to find its IP address.
  2. Access EWS: Open a web browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. Press Enter to access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  3. Navigate to Wireless Settings: In the EWS, navigate to the Wireless or Network settings section.
  4. Change Wi-Fi Network: Look for options to change the Wi-Fi network or set up a new connection. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the new Wi-Fi network details and apply the changes.

Method 4: Using HP Printer Software (Windows)

  1. Open HP Printer Software: Open the HP printer software on your Windows computer.
  2. Select Printer: Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 printer from the list of available printers.
  3. Open Settings: Click on the Settings or Tools option, and then select the option to configure the printer's wireless settings.
  4. Connect to New Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
