I understand that you are facing connectivity issues. I’d like to help!
Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.
Is it a private (Home network) or a public Wi-Fi connection? Wi-Fi direct? Or Hotspot?
What device are you using the printer with a Windows computer, Mac, Android, or iPhone?
Meanwhile, To connect your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w printer to a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the HP Smart App
Download and Install HP Smart:
- Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer from the HP Smart website or your device’s app store.
Prepare Your Printer:
- Turn on your printer and ensure it is in a ready state.
- Make sure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
Connect Your Printer to Wi-Fi:
- Open the HP Smart app on your device.
- Click on the “+” icon or “Add Printer” option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer. The app will guide you through connecting your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Method 2: Using the Wireless Setup Wizard (Windows)
Download and Install the Printer Software:
- Download the full-feature software from the HP support website.
- Install the software on your computer.
Run the Wireless Setup Wizard:
- During the software installation, select “Wireless” as the connection type.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
Method 3: Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
Prepare Your Printer and Router:
- Make sure your printer is turned on and in a ready state.
- Ensure your router supports WPS and that it is enabled.
Activate WPS on Your Printer:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on your printer for about three seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
- Release the button. The printer is now in WPS mode.
Activate WPS on Your Router:
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
- The printer and router should establish a connection. The wireless light on the printer will stop blinking and remain solid when connected.

Method 4: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Print a Network Configuration Page:
- Press and hold the Start Copy button on the printer’s control panel for about five seconds to print a network configuration page.
- Note the IP address of the printer listed on the network configuration page.
Access the Embedded Web Server:
- Open a web browser on your computer.
- Enter the IP address of the printer in the browser’s address bar and press Enter.
Configure Wi-Fi Settings:
- In the EWS, navigate to the Network or Wireless settings.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the network password.
- Apply the settings and wait for the printer to connect to the network.
Additional Tips
- Ensure Wi-Fi is Enabled: Make sure the Wi-Fi on the printer is enabled. The wireless light should be on or blinking.
- Check Firewall Settings: If you have a firewall enabled on your computer, make sure it is not blocking the connection between the printer and your network.
- Restart Devices: If you encounter issues, try restarting your printer, router, and computer.
