Hi, my envy 6032e was connected to my wifi via an extender which has stopped working. I’m now trying to connect the printer directly to my wifi (having moved it next to the router) but it won’t connect to it in the hp app. Help!

Hi @Benc642,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be when your HP Envy 6032e, which was working fine through the extender, suddenly refuses to connect after you thoughtfully moved it closer to the router. Let’s get it reconnected and back to printing smoothly.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help your printer rediscover your Wi-Fi:

Reconnect HP Envy 6032e to Wi-Fi (After Extender Removal)

Step 1: Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

This clears the old extender connection and prepares it for a fresh setup.

  1. On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel (X) button together for 5 seconds.
  2. The Wi-Fi light will start blinking. This means it’s in setup mode.

You might hear a soft whir or see the light pulse that’s your printer saying, “I’m ready to connect!”

Step 2: Use the HP App to Reconnect

  1. Open the HP app on your phone or computer, Or Download from: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.
  2. Tap “+” to add a new printer.
  3. The app should detect your HP Envy 6032e in setup mode.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to connect it to your main Wi-Fi network (not the extender).

💡 Make sure your phone is also connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to join.

Step 3: Confirm Connection

  • Once connected, the Wi-Fi light on the printer will turn solid blue.
  • Try printing a test page from the HP Smart app or your device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
