I just moved into an office building and brought my printer from home, I have no access to the internet router.

The printer was connected to my at home wifi, and now I need it connected to the office wifi for wireless printing.

I have reset the printer to set up mode by holding down the wireless and cancel buttons. I have restarted it. My computer can't see it. My computer can only see it with a USB cable, but you can't connect to wifi with a USB cable....(at least the sources I'm looking at tell me).

My printer is out of warranty so I am not allowed to speak to a human, only an unhelpful robot that provides no alternative solutions. I need this printer to be wireless, I can't access the router. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi @stke

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue.

Guest or public networks (such as networks found in apartments, coffee shops, schools, offices or hotels) have additional security features that can prevent printing.

You may try printing using Wi-Fi Direct. Please refer to page# 45 from the User Guide for step by step instructions.

For more information, go to Wi-Fi Direct Printer Setup

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
