We have got a new internet provider.  I am trying to connect my printer, but WPS doesn't seem to work, nor do any of the other solutions I've seen on the HP website or by googling.  Help!

Hi @Adrian441,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw printer to a new internet provider, you'll need to follow these steps.

  • Ensure that your printer is powered on and in a ready state.
  • Locate the control panel on the front of your printer. Press the right or left arrow buttons to navigate to the "Setup" menu.
  • Press the "OK" button to enter the Setup menu.
  • Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the "Network Setup" or "Network" option and press "OK."
  • Select the "Wireless" or "Wi-Fi" option and press "OK."
  • Your printer will search for available wireless networks. Once the list is displayed, use the arrow buttons to select your new internet provider's network name (SSID) from the list.
  • If your new internet provider's network is password protected, you will be prompted to enter the network password. Use the printer's control panel buttons to enter the password and press "OK" when finished.
  • After entering the password, your printer will attempt to connect to the wireless network. Once connected, you should see an indication on the printer's control panel confirming the connection.
  • You can also print a network configuration page to verify the connection. To do this, navigate to the "Reports" or "Information" menu on the printer's control panel, select "Network Configuration Page," and press "OK" to print the page.

Once you have successfully connected your HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw printer to your new internet provider, you should be able to print wirelessly from any device connected to the same network. Remember that if your printer's IP address changes due to the new network, you may need to update the printer settings on your devices accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,Alden.  Thanks for your reply.  I'm afraid it wouldn't work because the printer is so old that it doesn't have the facility to list available networks, or for the user to enter a password.  We have, however, finally got the printer connected.  I had tried a couple of times to download the printer driver and reinstall the printer, but this hadn't worked,  because the installation program taking you through the setting up hadn't worked. There was a message that I had to download additional software (HP Easy Start, I think it was called), but this was not available for our printer on the website.  I have a Mac, but my husband has a pc, and he tried downloading the driver, and, lo and behold, it did lead him through the setting up routine.  We had to connect the computer to the printer via a USB cord (which we still had from setting it up ten years ago), and this then enabled us to select the network and put in the password on the computer, and then we were able to disconnect the cord and the printer was on the network.  If we hadn't had the pc available, I suspect we'd be still trying!  Thanks for the time taken to respond to me.
