I have spent 3 days and a total of 12 hours online with hp printer support only to get NO SUPPORT!

Please tell me how to connect my printer (hp smart tank plus 651) to wi fi. I have used this printer before so I know it works. However it is now giving me a blinking blue light. What do I do next?

@Barbara207ME, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The blinking blue light on your HP Smart Tank Plus 651 printer indicates that it is not connected to a Wi-Fi network. To resolve this and connect your printer to Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

Prepare for connection:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is turned on and functioning properly.
  • Make sure that your printer is within the range of the Wi-Fi network.
  • Note the network name (SSID) and password.

Access Wireless Setup Mode:

  • On your HP Smart Tank Plus 651 printer, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously until the power button starts blinking. This action will put the printer into wireless setup mode, indicated by a blinking blue light.

Use HP App:

  • Download and install the HP app on your smartphone, tablet, or computer from 123.hp.com or your device’s app store.
  • Open the HP app and follow the prompts to add your printer. The app will guide you through connecting your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
  • During the setup process, select your network and enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Complete the connection:

  • Once the printer connects to the Wi-Fi network, the wireless light on the printer will stop blinking and remain solid blue.
  • Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network for the connection to be successful.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
