I have a HP Office jet Pro 8610 all in one Printer that I am trying to connect to my new Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3. I have followed all the listed instructions with no success. The printed report takes about MAC address filtering and adding the printer MAC address to the router. I have no idea how to do this.
Any and all help is much appreciated.

I see that you are trying to connect the printer to the wireless router.
If MAC address filtering is enabled on the router, you will have to add the printer to the 'allowed' list. Contact your internet service provider for assistance.
On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings
Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
Tap the wireless icon on the printer screen to check if the printer is connected to the right network.

I am having the same issue with a officejet pro 276dw. and the Telstra gen 3 modem. It connected perfectly to the Telstra gen 2 modem but not the gen 3. My laserjet pro MFP M426fdw connected perfectly to the gen 3 modem. The access control list on the modem is disabled by default so should not stop mac address's. I added the officejet mac address to the whitelist in the access control list and it still did not work. I also split the SSID of the 2.4 and 5 gigs which made no difference.
This problem needs to be investigated as the Telstra Gen 3 modem is Telstra's latest and a lot of people will be affected.
Hope this will help I have run out of options and I need the printer to run on my wireless network.
One last comment. I accessed the printer via ethernet and programmed the network interface with the embedded web server SSID wireless password etc still no go. Error message " MAC address filtering may be enabled" Its not
I hope this issue can be solved

G’Day Rob.
the only way I could get connection was by an Ethernet cable from the Telstra wifi 6 modem directly to the printer.
it’s not the fix I wanted and HP need to resolve this. In the mean time this works.

Head to your Telstra Gen 3 modem settings. You can navigate there by going to a computer, phone or iPad etc connected to your network and entering the address 192.168.0.1 (unless you've changed it).
Enter your wireless password into the password field and login. This will log you into your modem.
Select the Wi-Fi tile which will open a pop-up window for you.
There is a radio button titled 'Split". Slide it to the right to turn it on.
Under the 2.4GHz section, change the Security setting to WPA2 PSK. Leave the settings for the 5GHz settings as they are.
Save and close and wait for a couple of minutes.
Then head back to your printer and head into your wireless settings. I didn't find the WPS worked but when I selected the Wi-Fi network and manually popped in the network password, it worked.
Hope this works for you too.
By the way, this does mean your 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless networks are set up separately, so you will need to connect your device to the 5GHz band again to get the faster wireless connection. If you've got your devices connected to both networks, they will decide which is going to be faster automatically and will adjust accordingly.
