My OfficePro 8500 scanner works fine if I scan to email, but I cannot connect from my MacBook Pro. It has worked fine up until one day ago. I have not changed any settings. In the past unplugging printer/resetting router have solved the problem. Any other suggestions? The printer works fine wirelessly from MacBook.

What version of OS X?  What router?

Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

Restart your Mac.

Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

It appears it was a temporary problem because today the scanner is working just fine. The only thing that was done since it stopped working was to restart the printer due to a printing error, but previously this didn't help the scanner. It's very strange! I didn't try the suggested fix because I don't want to mess with anything now.

I have the same printer. Works great on USB. It connects to the network and I can "see" it on all of the computers in the house, but it is unavailable. tried the standard resets and unistalls, help

Hi Oscar_Ingalls,

I would like to help you with your wireless connection issue. Could you please tell me what operating system you are running on your computer.

Thank you,

I worked on behalf of HP.

I corrected the problem by installing the full HP print software instead of just the drivers.
