I have an HP deskjet 2540 and recently moved to Sky and can’t connect to the Wi-Fi. It is asking for my password which I don’t have and no ink to print out page from printer any other way I can access the password

@Glasgowlass, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 2540 to your new Sky Wi-Fi network, and you're unable to print the network configuration page due to low ink. No worries, I’ll guide you through alternative steps to reconnect your printer without needing to print anything.

Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

You can use the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Download HP Smart:

Reset Wi-Fi on Printer:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer at the same time for 5 seconds.
  • This will reset the wireless settings and put the printer in Wi-Fi setup mode (the wireless light will blink).

Open HP Smart App:

  • Make sure your phone or PC is connected to the Sky Wi-Fi.
  • Open the app and click “+” to add a new printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Option 2: Use WPS (If Your Router Supports It)

If your Sky router has a WPS button, you can connect without a password:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
  3. Wait for the wireless light on the printer to stop blinking, it means you're connected.

About the Wi-Fi Password

If you're unsure of your Sky Wi-Fi password, check:

  • The label on the back or bottom of your Sky router.
  • Or log into your router settings via a browser (usually 192.168.0.1) to view or change it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
