I have had tons of trouble connecting my desk jet 3755 to my desktop. It will not remain connected. The Web Services light flashes continuously and now the Wireless light is flashing as well. How do I connect and keep this printer connected? Any help appreciated.

Hi RebNesbit

The issue you are describing with your HP DeskJet 3755, where the Wireless light is continuously blinking and the Web Services light is also blinking, indicates that the printer is not successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network or to HP's Web Services.

This is a common issue that can usually be resolved by performing a full network reset and re-setup.

Here is a step-by-step guide to connecting and maintaining the printer connection:

1. Power Cycle All Devices (The Basic Fix)

Intermittent connection issues are often solved by restarting all devices involved.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from your Wi-Fi router.

  3. Unplug the power cord from your printer.

  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  5. Plug the power cord back into your router and wait for all the lights to stabilize (indicating an active internet connection).

  6. Plug the power cord back into the printer and turn it on.

  7. If the wireless light is still blinking, proceed to Step 2.

2. Restore Wireless Setup Mode (Factory Reset Network)

You must clear the printer's previous network settings to start the connection process from a clean slate.

  1. With the printer turned on, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time for about 3 to 5 seconds.

  2. Release the buttons when the Power light and the Wireless light start blinking.

    • This restores the network defaults and puts the printer into Wi-Fi Setup Mode. The blue Wireless light should be blinking slowly.

3. Connect to the Wi-Fi Network

Once the printer is in setup mode, you have two primary methods to connect it to your home network:

A. Use the HP Smart App (Recommended)

This is the easiest way to ensure a stable connection.

  1. Make sure your desktop PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.

  2. Download and install the HP Smart app (if you don't have it) on your desktop from 123.hp.com or your app store.

  3. Open the app and follow the prompts to Add a new printer. The app should detect your printer in setup mode and guide you to enter your Wi-Fi password.

B. Use WPS (If your router supports it)

This method directly links the printer and router without using the computer's app.

  1. Make sure the printer's Wireless light is blinking (in setup mode, see Step 2).

  2. Within the next two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on your router for about 5 seconds (or until you see the WPS light on the router start blinking).

  3. Wait: The printer's Wireless light should turn solid blue when the connection is successful.

4. Troubleshooting Web Services (The Blinking Cloud Icon)

Once the Wireless light is solid blue (successful Wi-Fi connection), if the Web Services light (the cloud icon) is still blinking, it means the printer cannot communicate with HP's servers.

  • Ensure the printer is NOT connected to your desktop with a USB cable, as this prevents Web Services connection.

  • Try to Update the Printer Firmware using the HP Smart app or by downloading the latest firmware from the HP support website.

I hope the above is helpful!
