HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer

I have the 9730e printer. Every time I go to print, it is offline, but still connected to Wi-fi. I did not have this problem with the last printer, but I have had this problem with 9730e ever since I've had it.  Constantly having to turn it off and back on to print. What is its problem?  I have gone through the list for fixing. Run diagnostics and it comes back fine. Router is new, and turned off and back on. This is a constant problem with this new printer.

Hi @TTerrell29

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s frustrating when a printer keeps going offline despite being connected to Wi-Fi. Since you’ve already tried diagnostics and router resets, here are some additional steps that might help:

1. Assign a Static IP Address

  • Open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by typing its IP address into a web browser.
  • Navigate to Network > IPv4 Configuration.
  • Set a manual/static IP address to prevent disconnections.

2. Disable "Use Printer Offline" in Windows

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e and select See what’s printing.
  • Click Printer (top left) and uncheck "Use Printer Offline."

3. Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Remove the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Download the latest drivers from HP’s official website.
  • Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to detect and fix issues.
  • Reinstall the printer and check if it stays online.

4. Update Printer Firmware
