HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer. Currently the control panel is locked and I do not have the user name or password. I would like to reset the device but I am unable to due to the control panel lock. How do I reset the device to factory settings and remove the user name and password?

@JIJ623, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If the control panel of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer is locked and you do not have the username or password, you may try the following general troubleshooting steps for HP printers:

Power Cycle: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it, waiting for a few minutes, and then turning it back on. This may not unlock the control panel but is a general first step.

Reset to Factory Defaults: If you can access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS), you might be able to reset the printer to factory settings from there. To do this, you would typically need to connect your printer to your computer via USB and access the EWS through a web browser using the printer's IP address.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Those solutions do not work.  I did resolve the issue by following a Youtube video.  With the contol panel in the "Home" condition, tap on the dark space where the back arrow would be three or four times and a reset menu will come up.  I did a semi-full reset and the locked condition went away and I was able to link to my new wifi network.
