Every time I try to setup my printer, it would ask my for a 'Custom Password'. I have no idea what this password is and where to get it. I've owned the printer for a couple of years now, but a recent issue forced me to reset it. It has worked fine until today [14/09/2022].

 

I've scoured the physical printer and the internet for a 'default value' for this 'Custom Password' but am unable to find anything regarding it aside from a 1-year-old post here on HP community which was resolved through direct communication.

 

Please help.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

We have to perform a Semi Full Reset to Reset the password. 

 

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. 

 

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer. 

 

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
