Has anyone got other solutions for this problem? I still have this issue, have tried everything but still failed to print from my laptop wirelessly. Had online chat with HP support, was told this is printer driver issue. I'm using Acer laptop anyway.

The unusual thing about my problem is that my HP Network Configuration page prints (whether connected via USB or not (I print it by pressing the actual printer buttons)) and shows that my Diagnostic Results are all PASS,and the printer will print with the USB cord. Yet somehow, when I try to set up the wireless connection, or even just print without the USB, nothing happens. When not plugged in, I can still see the printer on my available printer list. So somehow the computer and printer are both seeing each other, but not communicating properly. Does anyone have any possible solutions or resources I can use?

MY HP Deskjet 2540 keep losing connection with the router (BT Home Hub3). I don't print very much so it is often a few days inbetween printing. ( I leave the router on permanently).
When I want to print something, the printer is shown as 'Offline'. If I then reboot the router and then switch the printer on, it comes 'Online'. In the past 'Print & Scan Doctor' has prompted me to do this and it works each time.
I use HP Pavilion x2 Notebook running Windows 8.1
Can you help me resolve this issue please?
Many thanks, John

Hello,
i wonder if you could help. I have followed your advise regarding getting the printer to reconnect howvever i cant get it to work.
Things ive tried:
I have tried resetting the printers wireless settings to achieve connection - fail
i have manually entered the SSID and encryption details that achieve connection - after a few minutes connection fails
My router Netgear WPN824v2 does not support the WPS button
My main router is currently delivering the N wirless at 5ghz and printer will not detect printer
It seems the printer believes its connected with a stable connection light, however looking at the attached devices on the router, the printer is not there. As such no computer on the network can connect and print.
please advise.

Darein

Hi Darren,
I've got around my problem by switching off router, then switching it back on, then switching printer on and it seems to work every time. Not an ideal solution I know but saves me a lot of frustration.
Hope it works for you
Regards, John

Printers are not supported on the 5Ghz band, only the 2.4Ghz band. Change to the 2.4Ghz band with a different SSID.
