Hi @Karla07,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The DNS not confirming error on your HP Envy 5643 usually means the printer cannot resolve your network’s DNS server, which prevents it from connecting to the internet for services like ePrint or updates. Here’s how to fix it:

Step 1: Restart Everything

  • Power cycle your printer, router, and PC.
  • This clears temporary network conflicts.

Step 2: Check Network Connection

  • On the printer:
    • Go to Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Summary.
    • Ensure it shows Connected and the correct SSID.

Step 3: Assign Manual DNS

  1. On the printer:
    • Setup > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > IP Settings.
  2. Switch from Automatic to Manual.
  3. Enter:
    • IP Address: Same as current (shown in Wireless Summary).
    • Subnet Mask: Usually 255.255.255.0.
    • Default Gateway: Your router’s IP (often 192.168.1.1).
    • DNS: Use a public DNS like:
      • Primary: 8.8.8.8 (Google)
      • Secondary: 8.8.4.4 (Google)

Step 4: Update Firmware

  • On printer: Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
  • Or use the HP app on your PC.

Step 5: Test Web Services

  • After the DNS fix, enable Web Services again for ePrint.
