I have to go to the printer's broadcast wifi each time I need to print anything. I can't print over my internet accessable wifi network.
I have removed and reinstalled the printer several times. Each time the printer is automatically named 'Deskjet 2600 Series (Copy 1)' in the "Devices and Printers" folder. When I open a document or pdf which I want to print, there is an option to use a "Deskjet 2600 Series' printer AS WELL AS the 'Deskjet 2600 Series (Copy 1) printer.
A- Why is "copy 1" added to the printer in the "devices and printer" control panel setting? Does that mean that there is another Deskjet 2600 series printer installed which isn't visible in the printer control panel?
B- Why won't the printer print over the wifi which I use to access the internet? It used to be able to print over that wifi network and didn't require me to go to the "Direct-06-HP Deskjet 2600 series" network each time I wanted to print anything.
Thanks in Advance (TIA)

"Direct-06-HP Deskjet 2600 series"
Wi-Fi Direct
True - if you are using the Wi-Fi Direct network connection, your printer is not connected to your regular network.
Instead, the printer's own Wireless radio is used to connect the printer to your computer without going through your router controlled Wireless network.
If you do not intend to use Wi-Fi Direct,
that is, if you want to connect your printer to your router controlled wireless network,
Wi-Fi Direct can be toggled OFF on the printer control / display panel.
You might be able to configure your Wireless network using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
and
You can switch OFF the Wi-Fi Direct connection using EWS.
Example
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Network
EWS Help on Page 72 of the User Guide
To open the embedded web server through a network
1. From the printer control panel, press the Wireless button ( ) and the Information button ( )
together to print the network configuration page.
2. Find out the IP address or host name of the printer from the network configuration page.
3. In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address or host name assigned to the printer.
For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a web browser: https://192.168.0.12.

Where to start?
Open User Guide
Read Chapter 7 - Connect your printer - starting on Page 61
If you want to reconfigure the printer and its connection to your network,
If just switching off Wi-Fi Direct does not let the printer find and connect to your network,
Consider: Set the network defaults so you can start over to add your printer to your network.
Reminder: Your printer can only connect to 2.4GHz band / frequency.
Open User Guide
Read all of Page 69
including:
The instructions to print a network configuration page - section
To turn on or off the wireless capability of the printer
and
To restore network settings to default settings
●Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel together for three seconds

What is "Copy 1"?
The extra printer listing is perhaps the result of having (at some point) run the Print and Scan Doctor.
In particular, the "Offline" version of the Doctor can create this extra "Copy 1" queue.
In fact, running the Offline version of the Doctor - after switching off Wi-Fi Direct - might actually fix the rest of the issues you are having. If it works, it is an easy option - worth a look.
Resource – Choose the right doctor for the job
Open Website
HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click the green Download Now option / box
Wait!
If the problem / issue is one or more of
- Printer is Offline
- Cannot print in Color
- Duplex printing has disappeared
- Installation continues to fail
Try this “Offline” Doctor version:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe
After the doctor runs, Restart the computer and log in.
Doctor will finish any necessary setups.
NOTES – The “Offline” doctor
As a result of repairing issues,
Offline / Color check / Duplex check version of the Doctor may replace the printer or add a “(Copy 1)” version of the driver in Devices and Printers.
If there are two printers in Devices and Printers,
If one of them does not work,
Try sending your job to the “Copy 1” named printer.
Later
If you want / need to rename the “Copy 1” printer:
Open Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
Right-Click on the printer name > Printer Properties > Tab General >
In the top box, Edit the name of the printer (For example, remove the part that says “Copy 1”)
Click Apply / OK to save change
NOTE: The name change may take a bit of time (a few minutes), else Restart the computer and log in.
