hp deskjet 3055A e-all-in-one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

Im installing the HP Deskjet 3055A e-All-in-One printer but am experiencing a problem. The printer is working fine using USB, but when I use an up to date version of the HP-software to convert the USB-connection to a wifi connection, it keeps prompting me that the wifi-password is incorrect.

When I login to the router webinterface, and copypaste the wifi password, it still gives this error.

I have tried reinstalling the software, clearing the wifi settings on the printer, restarting the wifi router, but all to no avail. I have also tried connecting using WPS, but this prompts a WPS-error. Is there another step I could use to fix this issue? Is there a way to reset the wifi on the deskjet, other than the menu on screen? I feel like it might be a problem with the wifi antenna.

Kind regards,

Freppie

@Freppie, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are trying to connect the printer to the wireless network. Let us try these steps:

Restore network settings to default settings.

1. Press the Wireless button to display the Wireless Menu.

2. From the Wireless Menu, select Settings.

3. From the Settings menu, select Restore Defaults.

4. Confirm selection to restore defaults.

Now, connect the printer using the WPS method

1. Press the Wireless button on the printer to display the Wireless menu. If the printer is printing, in an error state, or performing a critical task, wait until the task has been completed or the error cleared before pressing the Wireless button.

2. Select Wireless Settings from the printer display.

3. Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup from the printer display.

4. If you have a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) router with a WPS push button, select Push Button, and then follow the onscreen instructions. If your router does not have a push button or you are not certain if your router has a push button, select PIN, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

  • Make sure the printer and the computer are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

For more info on connectivity, refer to page 31 of the User Guide

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
