/Hello @cleanzheets, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Deskjet 4255e printer.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you and are glad we could help work toward a resolution. We hope our support has been valuable.

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please try a few troubleshooting steps provided below so that I can assist you further?

1. Power Cycle

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait for 1–2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet and turn it back on.

2. Restore Network Settings

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons together for 3 seconds.
  • Wait until the power button starts blinking, indicating reset mode.
  • Reconfigure the wireless connection.

3. Reinstall Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer and remove the cartridges.
  • Check and clean the electrical contacts if needed.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly and securely.

4. Re-add Printer in HP Smart App

  • Remove the printer from the HP Smart app.
  • Add it again to reconfigure the wireless setup.

5. Verify Wi-Fi Band

  • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network.
  • The printer may not connect to 5 GHz networks.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
