Hi @Toooldtocare2

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how confusing it feels when an old printer still appears online even though you’ve already removed it physically and disconnected it from your computer. Thank you for taking the effort to clear the Envy 7000 from your iMac—that shows persistence.

Let’s go through the steps to remove the old printer from your HP account so you can connect the new Smart Tank 651 smoothly.

Step 1: Sign in to HP Account

  1. Open a browser and go to the HP Customer Support site:
HP Customer Support – My Printers
  2. Sign in with the same HP account you used previously.

Step 2: Remove the Old Printer

  1. Once signed in, you’ll see a list of printers linked to your account.
  2. Select the Envy 7000 from the list.
  3. Look for the option Remove Printer or Unlink Printer.
  4. Confirm the removal. The printer will no longer appear in your account.

Step 3: Add the New Smart Tank 651

  1. With the old printer removed, click Add Printer.
  2. Make sure your Smart Tank 651 is powered on and connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your computer.
  3. Follow the prompts to add it to your account.
  4. Once added, it will appear in your HP account and in the HP App.

Step 4: Verify in the HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Windows computer or mobile device.
  • The Smart Tank 651 should now be detected automatically.
  • From here, you can manage printing, scanning, and updates.

By removing the old printer from your HP account, you’ll clear the way for the new Smart Tank 651 to connect without confusion.
