HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8610 where I subscribed to the Instant Ink program.  It has been a several years and no longer desire to be a part of the Instant Ink program.  After cancelling the program, my printer will no longer print.  It appears that I have to replace the ink cartages that were provided by the instant ink process (that I paid for) in order to get the printer to print.

Is this correct?  Getting out of the Instant Ink program has been very confusing and difficult.

Yes, once you cancel a subscription the ink cartridges you received within the subscription stop working, and you need to use store bought cartridges. When subscribed to instant ink you are paying for printed pages, not for ink, ink is free.

Thank you for your timely response. Is it possible to purchase the ink that is left over so that I do not have to go find cartages for this fairly old printer?  These cartages will just go to waste otherwise.

Apparently HP is ensuring you buy their cartridges after the Instant Ink trial or subscription.  I signed up for the trial and cancelled because we don't print that many pages; the catch is that unless I reinsert authentic HP cartridges, the message on my printer will not go away and my printer is unusable.  I see this as an unethical sales practice.
