Due to whatever circumstance (obviously issues with the WLAN), my Envy 6432 quit working. After trying several things the printer worked but not the scanner.
I still had serious issues when I tried to connect this product initially with my network and made it work.
I am not a beginner but for me it was definitely to complicated to install it.
Finally I called the support and they could make it. However they were really quick that I could not follow.
Now I am sitting here since 1 1/2 day and whatever HP support page I checked, there is no real help in my eyes.
I am working with a Terra mobile Laptop, 16GB Memory and 1,8GHz / Windows 10.
One thing might be important. If I try to fix the problem with HP Print and Scan Doctor with the IP Address of the printer,
it failed. I used the IP Address from Printer menue properties. If I take the IP-Address from the WLAN router it' s the same.
Now I am going to deinstall everything related with the printer and start from the scratch again.
By the way, it happened that I could print, even the printer is marked as offline....????
So I would appreciate if anyone could provide helpful hints.

Hi @carlo-m52,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Pro 6432 All-in-One Printer, particularly with the scanner functionality and network connection. Since you've already tried various steps, including using the HP Print and Scan Doctor, I’ll guide you through a comprehensive troubleshooting approach to help resolve both the printer/scanner installation and connectivity issues.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Uninstall the Printer Software Completely
- Open Control Panel → Programs → Uninstall a Program.
- Uninstall anything related to the HP printer, including HP Smart, HP drivers, and HP utilities.
- Open the Device Manager and remove the printer from Printers and Imaging devices.
- Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners, and if you see your printer listed there, remove it.
2. Download the Latest Printer Software
- Visit the HP Support page for the ENVY Pro 6432 and download the Full Feature Software package.
- Make sure you're downloading the latest version compatible with your 64-bit Windows 10.
3. Reboot Router and Printer
- Turn off your printer.
- Reboot your router (unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in).
- Turn on the printer and check if the wireless light is on.
4. Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi
- If your printer's Wi-Fi light is not solid, reconnect it to your network using these steps:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time until the Power light blinks.
- Open the HP Smart app on your laptop, and it will detect your printer.
- Follow the prompts to add your printer and connect it to the Wi-Fi.
5. Reinstall Using HP Smart
- After the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi:
- Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer.
- Follow the installation steps carefully to install both the printer and scanner drivers.
- Ensure that the scanner driver is also installed (important for scan functionality).
6. Check the Printer's IP Address
- Make sure you’re using the correct IP address:
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer by pressing and holding the Information button on the printer's control panel.
- Check the IPv4 address listed on this page.
- Ping the IP address to ensure the laptop can communicate with the printer:
- Open Command Prompt on your laptop.
- Type ping <your_printer_ip_address> and hit Enter.
- You should receive replies if the printer is reachable.
7. Set Printer to Static IP
- Access the printer’s EWS (Embedded Web Server) by typing its IP address in your browser.
- Navigate to Network Settings and set the printer to use a static IP address to avoid future connection drops.
8. Update Windows Firewall and Antivirus Settings
- Make sure that neither your firewall nor antivirus software is blocking printer communication.
- Add exceptions for the printer software (HP Smart, printer drivers) in your firewall/antivirus settings.
9. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor Again HP Print and Scan Doctor
- After everything is installed:
- Open HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Let it detect any remaining issues.
- Use the tool to attempt to fix both the printer and scanner.
10. Offline Printer Fix
- If your printer still shows as offline but can print, this might be due to communication issues:
- Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select See what’s printing.
- In the new window, click Printer and uncheck Use Printer Offline if it’s checked.
Additional Tips
- Restarting the Print Spooler Service: Sometimes the print spooler can cause issues with the printer being marked as offline. You can restart this service:
- Open Services (type services.msc into the Windows search bar).
- Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click and select Restart.

I hope this helps.
