II would like to access and change the settings of EWS on my HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3777. I have no recollection as to setting a custom username and password for the device, and I cannot access the device settings.
I have browsed the other support requests and have tried every suggested fix, including:
1.) Using details: user: admin pw: 12345678
2.) Printing the Wireless Settings and using the listed details
3.) Resetting by holding the Wireless and Cancel buttons at the same time.
No matter what I do the HP Smart and EWS portal is just telling me the username and password is incorrect and the authentication session is locked. Please help as I would like to be able to setup and use our printer as we continue to work from home.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @J_d_R,
I'd like to help!
We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
