HP Color Laser MFP 178nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

We have an MFP 178nw that is connected to our wireless network and IP known. Wifi-Direct is switched off, as it appeared to be causing problems.

Things can be printed to from iOS devices, and can be seen on iOS HP Smart  Apps. However, it is no longer reporting its toner levels in the Apps, and scanning cannot be performed. I cannot get a consistent connection to it from a new Win 10 64 bit PC. The PC can see the printer in the Win 10 HP Smart App, but will only show it as Offline.

I cannot get to the EWS through the IP address in a browser - there is no response, and it does not respond to pings.

I really want to do a full factory reset and start again. Any ideas how I can do this?

I think I fixed it; through a combination of setting the printer IP to a fixed address, and updating the router to exclude the chosen printer IP from the DHCP range. I suspect that the router reboot forced after the DHCP range update may have actually been the fix!
