Hi @DWick1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you need to reset the Embedded Web Server (EWS) password on your HP DeskJet 4175 because the password is not saved. Let’s go through a few steps to clear the EWS password and restore access.

Restore printer to factory defaults
On the printer control panel, tap Setup (gear icon).
Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools, then select Restore or Restore Factory Defaults and confirm.
This removes the EWS password and resets network and admin settings.

Restart the printer
After the restore completes, turn the printer off.
Wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on to ensure the reset is fully applied.

Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi
Use the control panel or HP Smart app to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
The EWS will not be accessible until the printer is back on the network.

Access the EWS again
Print a Network Configuration or Information page to find the printer’s IP address.
Enter the IP address into a web browser on a device connected to the same network.

Check EWS login status
When the EWS page opens, it should no longer prompt for a password.
If prompted, leave the password field blank and log in.

Set a new EWS password (optional)
In the EWS, go to Settings or Security.
Create and save a new password if you want to protect the EWS again.

Clear browser cache if prompted repeatedly
If the browser still asks for the old password, clear the browser cache or try a different browser.
Saved credentials in the browser can cause repeated login prompts.

I hope this helps.
