Hi @Yolanda46
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 4520 All-in-One Printer is automatically printing Network Configuration Pages overnight, which can be annoying. This behavior typically occurs due to certain settings or a network issue that causes the printer to print these pages automatically, often as part of a diagnostic process.
Here’s how you can troubleshoot and stop the printer from printing these network configuration pages:
1. Check Printer Settings for Network Configuration Pages
Sometimes, the printer is set to print a Network Configuration Page automatically to troubleshoot or report on its network status. This can usually be disabled through the printer's control panel settings or via its web interface.
- From the Printer's Control Panel:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to the Setup or Settings menu.
- Look for an option related to Network or Wireless settings.
- Find an option that refers to Print Network Configuration Page or Print Configuration Page and disable or turn off that setting.
2. Disable Automatic Network Configuration Printing via HP Smart App
If you're using the HP Smart App on your computer or smartphone, you can check the printer’s settings there:
- Open the HP Smart App.
- Select your HP Envy 4520 printer.
- Go to Printer Settings or Network Settings.
- Look for a setting related to Network Configuration Page or Automatic Printing.
- Disable the option to print network configuration pages.
3. Check for Printer's Diagnostic Reports
Sometimes, printers are set to automatically print diagnostic reports or network information. This is common if the printer is having trouble with its connection to the network and keeps trying to configure itself.
Reset the Network Settings: If the printer is having trouble staying connected to the network or is frequently printing these pages, try resetting its network settings and reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi network. This may stop the automatic printing of the configuration page.
To reset network settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup or Network Settings.
- Look for an option to Restore Network Defaults or Reset Network Settings.
- After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network and check if the issue persists.
4. Firmware Update
It’s possible that your printer has a firmware bug that is causing it to print these pages. Check for a firmware update to ensure the printer is up to date.
- Update Printer Firmware:
- On your printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Check for Updates.
- Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart App to check for firmware updates on your computer or smartphone.
- If there’s a firmware update available, install it and check if it resolves the issue.
5. Disable Printer's Wireless Setup Wizard
If the printer is constantly trying to reconnect to the network, it might be printing the network configuration page to troubleshoot its connection. The Wireless Setup Wizard might be running continuously if the printer cannot find the network.
- Turn off Wireless Setup Wizard:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard and check if it's enabled. If it is, you can either disable it or reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
