Hello!
I have the Envy 6000 All-in-One printer and I've been using it for what must be a couple years now. Out of nowhere this evening it decided to disconnect from my desktop. I tried to reconnect it using the super infuriating HP Smart app, but it gets stuck every time at the "Press the flashing information button on your printer" / "For security, we confirm your proximity to the printer" stage. I've restarted my devices a million times, reinstalled the HP Smart App, even separated the 5ghz/2.4ghz wifi bands on my router because I saw someone mentioned that as a possible issue. The printer does a chime thing that sounds like happy notes and takes itself out of pairing mode when I press the information button, as prompted to by the HP Smart App; however, the app just sits there forever at the "press the flashing info button ..." stage.
We have a laptop that is able to print to the printer, but the HP Smart App on that device doesnt even see the dumb printer for whatever reason. That laptop is our only print-capable device at this time so I'm hesitant to mess with it.
Please help 🙂

Hi @Jessica124,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing a connectivity issue with your Envy 6000 All-In-One. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To resolve the isseu we have to restore the printer back to Wi-Fi setup mode on the printer:
- Press and hold the Wireless button
on the back of the printer for five seconds until the Status light flashes (blue or purple depending on the model).
- Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for additional information and button presses for more printer models.
- Once you restore the network to defaults, then please follow the instructions on this link to connect the printer back to your PC.
Make sure your PC is also up to date :
- Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
