Hi @ArthB,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 6420e is printing multiple copies of each document when you only request one, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:

1. Check Print Settings:

  • When you go to print, make sure that the number of copies is set to 1 in the print dialog box.

2. Reset Printer Preferences:

  • Open Devices and Printers on your computer.
  • Right-click on your HP Envy 6420e and select Printer Preferences.
  • Go through the settings and reset any options to their default values.

3. Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

4. Check for Duplicate Printer Entries:

  • Sometimes, having multiple instances of the same printer can cause confusion. In Devices and Printers, ensure there’s only one instance of your Envy 6420e.

5. Try a Different Application:

  • Test printing from different applications (e.g., Word, PDF reader) to see if the issue persists across all programs.

6. Print a Test Page:

  • From the printer properties menu, try printing a test page. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer or the computer.

7. Check for Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system is up to date, as sometimes OS updates can affect printer functionality.

8. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can diagnose and fix common printing issues. You can download it from the HP Support website.

9. Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 5 minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
