Hi, I have a Pagewide MFP477dw printer, out of warranty.
The issue I have is that eprint is not working but im sure everything is set up correctly.
The web access results page indicates “No problems found, your printer has access to the internet, which is required for web services. The diagnostic results all report “pass”
The configuration confirms Eprint is on, The IP address is confirmed.
Web service settings confirm, “web services enabled, Internet connection – connected, Printer connection to HP connected – connected.
I am able to scan and send from the printer to my email address. Its just Eprint that isn’t working
I send an email to my printers address with a test pdf attached to it – within a minute of sending my printer wakes up – but does nothing else – it doesn’t print. The printer does work when I send prints from my computer to it and when I scan directly to my computer from it, Wifi signal strength is 4 out of 5 – so no issues there.
I have my print settings set to single sided print and all three paper trays are enabled and have paper.
I have never updated the drivers or firmware as i don't want my non HP cartridges been blocked, Is there something I am missing?

Hi,
What is your current firmware version?
Updating the firmware is always recommended, also be aware that lower version than 001.2042B will fail to connect due to an outdated certificate and will fail to work with an outdated certificate, see its readme below:
Updated certificate for HP Web Services
Be aware that Dynamic security may prevent using Non-HP cartridges

Thanks for your speedy reply ShlomiL. My current firmware revision is 001.1937D.00 - therefore older than 001.2024.
Is there a firmware version that i can use that wont prevent non HP cartridges being used?
Just replaced three of the 4 cartridges and although much cheaper than HP inks they are still quite expensive - and to be honest I have been using Cartridgesave cartridges since the starter cartridges ran out - so been using without issue for a few years.
I don't use e-print often and cant see the point of throwing away my cartridges and incurring the expense of installing genuine HP cartridges just to get this feature working. I note many people are uninstalling the latest firmware because of HPs practice of preventing third party inks - surely there has to be a more recent firmware version than mine that will comply with the current certificate and allow my non genuine HP inks to remain useable?
Could you confirm - The fact my printer wakes from sleep mode but fails to print when i send a PDF to the printers email address confirms all my web settings are in order and its just the certificate issue that stops the file being printed?

Hi @Glyn4,
I can confirm that HP Web Services won't work with any earlier firmware than mentioned above, and any later firmware is HP Dynamic Security enabled, it must be updated to allow any cloud services usage. if any other cause is in place I may only guess, nothing else...
