Hi @JB10011,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting "Error 05" on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w which typically indicates a paper jam or a paper feed issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Paper Jams: Paper Jam Error.
- Open all covers and trays to inspect for any jammed paper.
- Remove any paper found carefully to avoid tearing it.
- Make sure no small pieces of paper are left inside the printer.
Check Paper Tray and Feed Path:
- Ensure the paper tray is not overfilled and the paper is aligned correctly.
- Inspect the paper feed path for any obstructions or issues.
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:
- Turn off and unplug the printer.
- Open the access door and locate the paper feed rollers.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
- Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the door and plugging the printer back in.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn on the printer and navigate to the settings menu.
- Look for an option to reset the printer to its default settings (usually under "Setup" or "Tools").
- Perform the reset and see if the error clears.
Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure the printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP support website to download and install any available updates for your printer model.
