Error message says no internet connection. Re-started computer, printer and router. Re-ran wireless setup on printer. Tried to run Print Dr but it would not accept my printer password. Hid & added printer in HP Smart, ran diagnostics and found no issues. Nothing helped.
HP support via phone, chat and callback has said "temporarily unavailable" for two days. Hope they become available before the warranty expires!

@OldGuy49, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the detailed steps you've already taken — you're clearly familiar with troubleshooting! Since you're seeing a "No internet connection" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e, despite successful wireless setup and diagnostics showing no issues, let’s try a few targeted steps to fix this.
Check Date & Time on Printer
Incorrect date/time will block Web Services.
- On the printer touchscreen:
Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Date and Time
Reset Web Services
Corrupted web service configuration can cause this.
- On the printer:
Go to Settings > HP ePrint > Remove Web Services
(or in Network > Web Services Setup) - Wait 30 seconds, then re-enable Web Services and follow the prompts.
Assign a Static IP to the Printer
This helps with consistent router communication.
- On the printer screen:
Go to Network > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > IP Settings
Change IP from Auto to Manual, then assign a Static IP (keep the one it already has). - Set DNS manually:
- Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
- Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4
(Google DNS — often fixes connectivity issues)
Reboot All Devices (Again)
Once the above steps are done:
- Power off the printer, router, and PC.
- Turn on the router → wait 2 minutes.
- Turn on the printer → wait 1 minute.
- Turn on the PC and test again.
Update Firmware (if possible)
If your printer still won’t connect, you can try updating via USB or HP Smart:
- Use HP Firmware Update Utility on a Windows PC.
OR - From HP Smart > Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Firmware Update.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Appreciate the response. I was able to correct the clock, which was set to GMT, and confirmed that firmware is up to date. However, the web services and IP menu choices cited in your response are not on my printer’s menu. I do have a choice to Settings-Network-Restore Network Settings. But the warning sounds scary.
Still not connected, don’t know how to fix it.
As a suggestion, it would be helpful to have instructions that relate to menu choices that are available on my printer.

@OldGuy49, Thank you for your response.
Thanks for the update, and great job adjusting the clock — that’s an important one! I totally understand the menu confusion; HP loves to move things around between models, and the OfficeJet Pro 9135e has a newer interface. Let’s get you reconnected step-by-step, without restoring scary settings — and I’ll use exact menu paths for the 9135e.
First, Confirm Network Connection:
On the printer touchscreen:
- Tap the Wi-Fi / Network icon (or from Home: Settings > Network Setup).
- Look for:
- Network name (SSID): Does it show your actual Wi-Fi name?
- IP Address: Something like 192.168.x.x (If it shows 0.0.0.0 or is blank, it’s not connected).
If yes, the printer is on the network — now we need to fix the Web Services.
Re-enable Web Services (This Part Likely Failed Earlier)
Here’s how to do it on your 9135e model:
- On touchscreen, go to:
Settings > Web Services - If you see "Web Services is On" → tap Remove Web Services
(Don't worry—this won’t affect your Wi-Fi connection, just the HP cloud stuff). - After removal completes → go back and choose Enable Web Services.
- Follow prompts — it might ask to print an info sheet (this is normal).
⏳ Let it sit for 2–3 minutes while it attempts connection to HP’s servers.
Tip: Set DNS Manually (Since IP Options Are Hidden)
We’ll do this using HP Smart from your computer:
- Open HP Smart.
- Click your printer > Advanced Settings (this opens the printer’s Embedded Web Server in your browser).
- Go to:
Network > Network Settings > Manual DNS. - Set:
- Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
- Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4.
- Click Apply and restart the printer.
If you can’t get to “Advanced Settings” in HP Smart, just type your printer’s IP address into your browser (found in the Wi-Fi settings on the printer touchscreen).
Still Not Working?
If it's still stuck, try these quick tests:
- Ping Test: Open Command Prompt on your PC
Type: ping 8.8.8.8
If it replies, your network is fine.
- Printer IP Test: In your browser, type the printer IP (e.g., 192.168.1.15)
If the settings page opens, your printer is definitely connected — just not reaching HP.
I hope this helps!
