Hi @Ramaila1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

A new set of ink does not necessarily rule out an Ink System Failure. This error can be caused by the printer not properly detecting the ink system or printhead, rather than simply by the amount of ink in the cartridges. HP has different procedures depending on the cartridge type and printer model.

To make sure I give you the correct HP procedure, could you share:

  • Exact printer model (for example, OfficeJet Pro 7740, 8600, etc.)
  • The exact error message shown on the printer display, including any error code such as 0x... if present
  • Whether the new cartridges are genuine HP, refilled, or third-party
  • Which cartridges were replaced
  • Whether the printer can still make a copy, or if it is completely blocked by the error

In the meantime, HP's general reset procedure is:

  1. Turn the printer off. If it will not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  5. Turn the printer on and check whether the error clears.

Don't keep replacing cartridges yet. Once you provide the exact printer model and error message, I can check the HP procedure that applies to your particular printer and guide you through the appropriate cartridge/printhead checks.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
