Can anyone advise me on why there is such a delay in the process between selecting print to the actual start of printing  in wireless mode? It can literally take up to a minute for the printer to actually start printing after request. Strong WiFi signal with printer in the same room  router just on opposite wall.

Hello,

Hope you are well, according to the trouble description, its recommended to check if that happens with specific documents or application. Its better to test it, by printing a test page from the actual driver.

Go to settings > devices > printers and scanners > select the printer and then manage > print test page

if that is printing on time and fine, the network and printer are working fine.  Try printing a word document and check the same, if its only with an specific document or program, it is recommended, to update the printer driver manually for a generic PostScript.

you can get universal print drivers from this link

then from the same manage options, select printer properties and then advanced tab, click on new driver and go to your C drive to find the HP universal driver folder, once you open the folder, select any of the HPBUIO files and click accept and next till getting the driver installed, apply the changes and test printing.
