Hi @Stephi9,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to do factory reset your HP Color LaserJet 200 series printer, follow these steps:

Method 1: Reset from the Printer Control Panel

  1. Access the Setup Menu:
    • Tap the Setup icon on the printer's touchscreen (usually represented by a wrench or gear icon).
  2. Navigate to Service:
    • Scroll through the menu and select Service.
  3. Choose Restore Defaults:
    • Select Restore Defaults or Reset Factory Settings.
  4. Confirm the Reset:
    • Confirm the action. The printer will restart and reset to factory settings.

Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If you have network access to the printer:

  1. Open the EWS:
    • Find the printer's IP address from the control panel (under Network Settings).
    • Enter the IP address into a web browser on a connected device.
  2. Log In:
    • Log in as an administrator (default username and password may be "admin" and "admin" unless changed).
  3. Restore Factory Defaults:
    • Navigate to the Settings or System tab.
    • Look for an option like Restore Factory Settings or Reset Printer.
  4. Restart the Printer:
    • The printer may restart automatically after the reset.

Method 3: Hard Reset (For Persistent Issues)

  1. Turn Off the Printer:
    • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
  2. Press and Hold Buttons:
    • Hold down the Resume button (triangle icon inside a circle) or other buttons as specified in the printer manual.
  3. Reconnect Power:
    • While holding the button(s), reconnect the power cable and turn the printer on.
  4. Wait for Reset:
    • Release the buttons once the printer starts resetting.

Notes:

  • A factory reset will remove all custom settings, including network configurations, passwords, and print queue data.
  • If the printer is part of a managed setup, like in a corporate environment, some settings may not reset due to administrative locks.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
