- Confirm the Reset:
- Confirm the action. The printer will restart and reset to factory settings.
Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
If you have network access to the printer:
- Open the EWS:
- Find the printer's IP address from the control panel (under Network Settings).
- Enter the IP address into a web browser on a connected device.
- Log In:
- Log in as an administrator (default username and password may be "admin" and "admin" unless changed).
- Restore Factory Defaults:
- Navigate to the Settings or System tab.
- Look for an option like Restore Factory Settings or Reset Printer.
- Restart the Printer:
- The printer may restart automatically after the reset.
Method 3: Hard Reset (For Persistent Issues)
- Turn Off the Printer:
- Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
- Press and Hold Buttons:
- Hold down the Resume button (triangle icon inside a circle) or other buttons as specified in the printer manual.
- Reconnect Power:
- While holding the button(s), reconnect the power cable and turn the printer on.
- Wait for Reset:
- Release the buttons once the printer starts resetting.
Notes:
- A factory reset will remove all custom settings, including network configurations, passwords, and print queue data.
- If the printer is part of a managed setup, like in a corporate environment, some settings may not reset due to administrative locks.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
