Hi @MMM80,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 3830 is not responding after attempting to print. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check Power and Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly plugged into a power source and turned on.
  • Verify that the printer is connected to your computer or network correctly, depending on how you are trying to print.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve temporary communication issues.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer's display panel or any error lights that may be flashing. Note down any error codes or messages displayed.

Clear Print Queue (if applicable):

  • On your computer, check the print queue to see if there are any pending print jobs. If so, cancel them and try printing again.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve performance issues.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers on your computer. This process can help to reset the printer's configuration.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
